The fi-4340C has the ability to scan documents of
A4 size and below at speeds of up to 40 pages per minute
in mono and 16 pages per minute in color at 200 dpi.
Both single and double-sided documents can be scanned
through the 100-sheet Automatic Document Feeder and
damaged or fragile documents can be placed directly
on to the scanner's flatbed. Fujitsu's robust document
feed mechanism reduces operator intervention and a
unique infra red double feed detection feature stops
the scanner in the rare event of a double feed occurring
giving excellent quality control. In addition, an optional
imprinter can be fitted which can print a 40-character
string on the document once it has been scanned.
The fi-4340C has an additional slot to accommodate
Fujitsu's IPC4D processing device that provides enhanced
capabilities such as dither pattern download, automatic
separation between photographs and text and other image
manipulations. Other functions include spot noise removal,
dynamic thresholding, and gamma curve correction and
smoothing. This function can be used in monochrome
scanning only.
For applications requiring compressed color images,
the fi-4340C also has an optional JPEG compression
board.
Note:
The optional IPC-4D Image Enhancement Board can be
used in this scanner only when scanning in monochrome
mode.
