ABBYY FormReader Developer Edition is an Automation API toolkit based on FormReader Desktop Edition. This toolkit enables system integrators, Value Added Resellers, or corporate IT developers to customize FormReader Desktop Edition and integrate it into Windows applications. It is enough to write only a few lines of code by using programming languages that support Automation interface (C/C++, Visual Basic, Delphi, Java, etc.).
Use ABBYY FormReader Developer Edition to add data capture capabilities to your information management system. Graphical user interface, batch processing, export and import procedures can all be customized and tailored to your specific needs.
Key Features
FormReader Developer Edition provides the same features as FormReader Desktop Edition plus the possibility to control the following functionality via API:
- starting and quitting the program
- changing the appearance of windows
- controlling program messages
- executing any of processing operation: scanning/opening, recognition, verification, validation
- handling events at all stages of data entry
System Requirements
The software and hardware requirements are similar to those of ABBYY FormReader 6.5 Desktop Edition plus one of the following programming languages installed:
- Microsoft Visual Basic 5.0 or later
- Microsoft Visual C++ 4.x or later
- any other language that supports Automation.
Licensing Scheme
ABBYY Form Reader Developer Edition has two types of licenses:
- Development License
This license grants the right to develop application based on ABBYY FormReader Developer Edition.
- Runtime License
This license grants the right to distribute ABBYY FormReader Developer Edition together with developed applications. Runtime license may be purchased by the customers of Development License only.
Support
ABBYY supports customers of any licenses of ABBYY FormReader Developer Edition and does not support end-users of applications based on FormReader Developer Edition.
